USDA Insurance - Making Sure Your Clubs and Dancers are Covered

Program Description:
USDA’s Insurance Coordinator Elizabeth Sanders will outline the Insurance program, including answering the questions “Which form do I use to request a certificate?” and, “Which form is used to register students for Insurance?” Information will include accurate usage of the Insurance database, what events do and don’t need to be covered, specialty insurance riders (additional insured requests), and applying for last-minute certificates.

The square dance community is desperate for callers but how do we encourage new individuals to undertake the process of learning to call? Even more important—how do we as danc- ers and club members support them during their learning process? Long-time caller and dance teacher Mike Seastrom will share his insights on how we can support and nurture these new callers and help our programs grow.

This program will give an overview of the Youth dancer programs sponsored by USDA, including the Founders’ Memorial Youth Fund Scholarship – the application process and how the scholarship is funded. We will also discuss programs offered for youth dancers at the National Square Dance Conventions and brochures offered regarding youth programs. We will welcome input from organizers of successful youth programs across the country—let’s share!
